About The Ride

Most people booking a Yamaha out here have already done the touristy side of Dubai — Downtown, the Marina walk, maybe a desert safari brochure or two — and want something that actually gets the adrenaline going without needing a full day off. That’s exactly what this is. It’s a 2-seater ATV, proper off-road machine, not a golf-buggy dressed up for photos. The moment the tarmac ends near Al Badayer and the red dunes start, you’ll feel why people drive 45 minutes out from the city just for this.

The Yamaha handles the soft sand better than most rental-fleet quads we’ve tried — strong low-end torque for climbing the dune faces, and disc brakes that actually bite when you’re coming back down a steep face with sand kicking up behind you. Our guide rides ahead the whole time, so you’re never guessing which line to take.

Best Time To Ride, Honestly

October through April is when this ride is at its best — cool enough in the morning that you won’t be sweating before you’ve even started the engine, and the sunset slot in those months gets genuinely spectacular light on the dunes. If you’re visiting in June, July or August, book the first morning slot or the late sunset one; midday desert heat at that time of year isn’t something you want to add a helmet and riding gear on top of. During Ramadan we shift slots slightly — message us on WhatsApp and we’ll confirm the exact timing for your dates.

No licence needed. This is a guided ride — our desert guide leads the group the whole time, so first-timers are completely fine.

Not at all, though it does have more punch than our Kymco option. If you’d rather start gentler, ask about switching to the Kymco — same route, same dunes, easier controls.

The guided ride itself, helmet, and your guide’s escort the whole way. Hotel pickup is a small add-on, and you can bolt on a BBQ dinner or full dune-bashing package if you want to make a night of it.

Yes — a lot of guests do the Yamaha ride then roll straight into our standard or premium desert safari, which adds dune bashing in a 4×4, a BBQ dinner, and live entertainment.

Closed-toe shoes, sunglasses, and something light. We supply the helmet. A scarf or buff round your neck helps if it’s a windy day out on the dunes.

A day ahead is usually enough, but sunset slots in the cooler months (Nov–Feb) fill up fast, so message us early if that’s the slot you want.
